My name is Michelle and I am a 2025 candidate in the Certified Professional Canine Fitness Trainer (CPCFT) program. Through this in depth course, I am learning the ins and outs of dog anatomy, safe conditioning and exercise, and how to help dogs become the most high powered and healthy versions of themselves. My passion for dog training started with my rescue dog, Vinny. He had a tough start to life and his behavior showed it. In order to save him, I had to dive deep into dog training and learn past the level most pet dog owners require to train a family dog. Through this process, I found a part of myself that I didn't know existed- I became dedicated to improving dogs' lives through training. Along came Chief, my Australian cattle dog, who taught me that training doesn't have to only be for necessity, it can be purely for enjoyment and relationship building with your dog. He opened a new world for me- the world of dog sports. We have tried and competed in a variety of activities, our favorites being dock diving and nose work. In order to improve his performance and prevent injury I started a basic conditioning routine with Chief. When I found out about the CPCFT program, I knew this was my calling in the dog world. I cannot wait to help dogs and their handlers learn how to strengthen each other, and do their favorite activities not only better, but for as long as possible.
